The International Airport El Salvador has a new radar control system that was inaugurated by the President of the Republic, Salvador Sánchez Cerén; the vice president, Óscar Ortiz, and the president of the Autonomous Port Executive Commission (CEPA), Nelson Vanegas.
The project represented an investment of about 8 million dollars, which were executed through an agreement between CEPA and the Central American Corporation of Air Navigation Services (Cocesna).
SAIFOR air control consoles are designed to provide the perfect viewing angles required in air traffic control where constant monitoring is essential for every day of work.
The simplicity of this design and the possibilities offered by the system, it facilitates the work that the controller must perform, allowing to have more
time for decision making and the management of increasing volumes of air traffic.
These control rooms demand comfort, ergonomics and modularity, allowing the operator to have a perfect line of sight, being able to be relaxed enough to anticipate any incident that may happen, such as a delay in traffic, diversion and emergency care, ensuring safety public 24/7.
